REVIEW

a. Future Simple

Structure: will + base verb
Example: She will travel to Paris next week.

Uses:

  • Predictions: It will rain tomorrow.

  • Decisions made at the moment: I’ll answer the phone.

  • Promises: I’ll help you with your homework.


b. Be Going To – am/is/are + going to + base verb

  • Use: plans, intentions, predictions based on evidence.

Example: She is going to visit her grandma.


c. Present Simple

Structure: Subject + base verb (add “-s” for he/she/it)
Example: The train leaves at 8 p.m.

Uses:

  • Habits and routines: He plays football every weekend.

  • General truths/facts: Water boils at 100°C.

  • Scheduled events (especially for transportation or timetables): The flight departs at noon.

d. Present Continuous

Structure: am/is/are + present participle (verb+ing)
Example: She is meeting her friends later.

Uses:

  • Actions happening now: I am writing an email.

  • Future plans/arrangements: We are visiting Rome next week.

e. Future Continuous

Structure: will be + verb-ing
Example: He will be working late tonight.

Uses:

  • To describe what will be happening at a certain time in the future.

f. Future Perfect

Structure: will have + past participle
Example: By 2026, she will have graduated from university.

Uses:

  • To show that something will be completed before a certain point in the future:
    By next month, we’ll have finished the project.

Futuro perfecto simple
  • Enfoque: El resultado de la acción.
  • Uso: Para expresar que una acción estará terminada antes de un momento determinado en el futuro.
  • Estructura: Sujeto + will + have + participio pasado.
  • Ejemplo: By 6 PM, I will have finished my homework. (Para las 6 p. m., habré terminado mi tarea).
  • Frases comunes: byby the timein a few years. 

  • Futuro perfecto continuous
  • Enfoque: La duración de la acción.
  • Uso: Para enfatizar que una acción habrá estado en progreso hasta un momento específico en el futuro.
  • Estructura: Sujeto + will + have + been + verbo-ing.
  • Ejemplo: By 6 PM, I will have been studying for three hours. (Para las 6 p. m., habré estado estudiando durante tres horas).
  • Frases comunes: Usualmente se usa con "for" para indicar la duración.
